"The real question is whether we can carry even a small ember of that awareness back into ordinary life." Appriciative of this essay and it's invitations to the potency of daily pause into our sacred self of being. Your writing conveys such depth of reverie, welcoming reflection with the attention to the daily acts of pilgramage in an oridinary day. Merci.
So beautifully written, Patricia. I love that you speak of your own return to the post-pilgrimage life as well as your guests. Thank you for sharing your wisdom 🌹
I definitely felt this one especially after a recent pilgrimage to northern Spain. I felt like I arrived home at my true, natural pace. My work now is to sustain this pace as much as I can given the demands of daily life.
Wow this is so beautiful and sacred and deep. I usually get the 'vacation blues' when I come home, but this made me really ponder what it will be like returning from the sacred pilgrimage I will take next May. Your reflections and suggestions are deeply appreciated!
Thank you, Patricia. Retreat and then our return to the world of things and the distracted way modern life is lived. So good to name the art of "being in the world, but not of it."
